Interdisciplinary education is so beneficial, as we talked about in a recent blog post, here. This is especially true for neurodiverse (and neurotypical!) middle schoolers.
We pride ourselves on creating downloadable and print curriculum resources for K-8th graders. Recently, we have been working on a different way to offer our units…in an online learning membership!
We are very excited about this third option for learners and can’t wait to launch it. In this post, we will discuss more about it so you can figure out if it is right for your child or students.
What It Is
Our two-tier (basic and premium) online learning membership offers a flexible yet thoughtfully guided way for students to learn, explore, and thrive- all from the comfort of home, a classroom or tutoring session room. Designed to combine structure with freedom, each day includes self-paced lessons that guide learners through meaningful, activities while leaving plenty of room for curiosity and creativity.
Every unit is built around an immersive 8-12 week theme that connects multiple subjects into one cohesive learning journey. Instead of treating each subject as a separate box to check, our lessons intertwine reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and creative exploration in ways that make sense together. Students don’t just memorize information as they also experience it through projects, problem-solving, and reflection.
At the heart of the program is an understanding that every learner’s brain works differently. Our curriculum is built specifically for neurodivergent students, with supports that address a wide range of learning needs and sensory preferences. Lessons are written with clarity, flexibility, and predictability in mind. This provides structure where it helps and choice where it matters most.
The result is an approach that’s both comprehensive and adaptable. Learners can move at their own pace, revisit lessons as needed, and engage with materials in the way that feels best for them. Families gain the peace of mind that their child is receiving a full, balanced education and educational professionals gain peace of mind that learners are experiencing something totally unique and high quality.
It’s learning that meets students where they are, celebrates how they learn, and helps them rediscover the joy of curiosity-driven education.
What’s Included
We want to make the membership high quality and accessible for all learners enrolled. Because of this, we have carefully and thoughtfully set everything up so that they can experience the wonders interdisciplinary education. The following are what is specifically included in the learning membership:
- Full Year of Learning- The learning membership is 9 months with our regular units and then summer break with a lighter, 3-day week schedule.
- Breaks During the Regular Year- Just like in public, private and micro schools, the learning membership has breaks during the 9 months of the year. These include fall break (three days off), winter break (two weeks off) and spring break (one week off). Learners are welcome to not take those days off and finish the full year early if they want to.
- Drip Scheduling- Each week includes five days of lessons. In the evening during the week- the lesson plans change to the next one. So, each day the learner logs in, they will see a different lesson than the one they saw the previous day.
- Access to all Lessons- Even though the lessons change each day, learners have access to all lesson plans of the units. This means they are free to go back to plans they missed or forward if they want to work ahead or skip a day (s).
- Structured Daily Lessons- Each lesson plan has the same structure so learners know what to expect. The daily plans include introductions, reading passages, reading comprehension questions, educational videos, activities (with downloadable workbook sheets that go with them), reflection questions and Skill Sharpeners (math and ELA tasks).
- Downloadable Resources- In addition to the downloadable workbook pages included in the lessons, there are also other educational resources to download that will be available to learners who are at the premium membership tier.
- Accessibility Features- Just like in our regular units- all the lesson plans will have neurodiverse adaptations listed so that all learners can be successful. One of these adaptations is audio as learners get to hear the reading passages if they want to.
- Physical Workbooks- Learners at the premium membership tier get print workbooks shipped to them so there is no need to print things out.
- Kit Add-Ons- Learners at each tier have the ability to get add-ons (craft kits, science kits and sensory tool kits) that go along with their learning journey with the membership. They will be available for purchase in the Accessible Pathways store.
- Online Social Club: Each week, a Zoom social hour is offered for learners. It is not included in the membership costs.
Interdisciplinary Education: The First Unit!
Children enrolled in the learning membership will get to start out with an awesome unit called, Secrets of the Forgotten World. This is 8-weeks long and we are excited for feedback on it!
In the unit, learners discover the remains of a long lost world and must decode its artifacts, architecture, symbolic language and myths to piece together the story of this forgotten civilization. Along with the unit’s character guide, Dr. Rowan (an archaeologist, learners will uncover the mystery while engaging in the following subjects:
- History- Ancient civilizations and timelines.
- Science- Geology, archaeology and stratigraphy.
- ELA- Creative writing, journaling, decoding symbols and reading myths.
- Art- Symbol-making, map-making and ruins illustration.
- Critical Thinking- Decoding
Middle schoolers will love this unit because not only will they get to learn a lot but it will also be a fun adventure for them! It will be an immersive experience for them and lead to an end of the unit project where they rebuild the forgotten world.

Who This is For
We have created our online learning membership (and units in general) to be suited for multiple types of people and settings. These include the following:
- Neurodivergent children (ADHD, autism, 2e, dysgraphia etc.)
- Homeschoolers
- Co-ops
- Microschools
- Private schools
- Alternate schools
- After school programs
- Tutoring services
While we would like our learning membership to be for everyone , we recognize that teachers at public school may not be able to use the learning membership or any of our units as they do not have the flexibility to do so.
In Conclusion
The learning membership is something we thought of early on but shelved. Now that things have picked up, we are very happy to be offering it and using our interdisciplinary education units for it. It will be launched in mid January!
